HISTORIC SITE IS HOME FOR JT BROKERS GROUP

JUPITER- Perhaps, one of the town’s earliest structures, JT Brokers Group has purchased, remodeled and made the former Lieb building at Town Hall Road and Center Street its formal headquarters.

The relocation was actually a lateral move for the local realty company, “the intent being to position ourselves to control our destiny”, says Douglas Long, Realtor and one of the three owners, explained.

But the gesture may have served as more of an investment back into the community as the group, formed in 1984, obviously recognized a need to preserve local heritage rather then destroy it, and thus becomes somewhat of a leader in historic rehabilitation. “It seems we’ve always been a leader,” Pamela Coffey, another of the owners said. She pointed out that JT Brokers Group was formed in the Plaza 222 building in Tequesta. Needing a larger space JT Brokers Group then leased space in the Jupiter Cove Plaza. Then, when the Fisherman’s Wharf complex on Indiantown Road was completed in 1988, JT Brokers Group became the first tenant. The group’s first owners included Long, Coffey and Patricia Robinette. Later Martin Gouyd and Jeff Coffey joined the group.

Originally a farmers market, the Center Street structure was expanded to its present size in 1958 and has served as retail and office space for a variety of business ventures since then. To accommodate JT Brokers Group in 1998, it was necessary to gut the building and completely refurbish it. Added space was not achieved in the move, but the business is more functional in the Center Street location. The renovated building added greatly to the aesthetics of the neighborhood.

JT Brokers Group is primarily a residential and commercial real estate brokerage, but with the expertise of the three owners and an efficient and experienced group of agents many specialties are practiced. Most associates have a broker or broker-salesman license and many have the various designations such as CRS, GRI, CRB, WCI, CCIM, and many others.

JT Brokers Group enjoys a long standing in the community, but they have also been consistent as one of the top-producing agencies. The owners boast more then 100 collective years of real estate experience among them. Jeff Coffey, Doug Long, and Pam Coffey are the present owners of the company.
